Grateful Stamp a Stack Card

With the holidays so quickly approaching I thought a Thanksgiving card would be a good option for the October Stamp a Stack. Plus I got to work in a touch of my current favorite products from the holiday catalog...Yes that's right! Tulle Ribbon & Champagne Glimmer Paper!
So Lovely! The new Autumn Accents die is pretty fabulous too!
I have finally narrowed down which of the 5 cards we will be making this month. Now I just need to take a few photographs. I'll be back later to share those.
Thanks for stopping in!

October's Technique Tuesday

This morning I had to go have my neck & shoulder checked since I injured myself on Friday moving something I shouldn't have. Doctor gave me some meds & said to ice it & it should start feeling better in a couple days. But anyway the show must go on!!
It's time for Technique Tuesday! Tomorrow I will be showing my gals how to make beautiful tulle flowers from our new scalloped tulle ribbon! My up upline Beverlee Morales showed these & I absolutely LOVE them! Here is the card we will be making tomorrow...

The flower really is the star so I wanted to keep it very simple. Plus you can't go wrong with a little of that fabulous Champagne glimmer paper, right?!
Thanks for stopping by & hope you have a great week!

My Girls Made It!

Well Friday the girls decided they wanted to do one of their favorite things...watch crafting videos on YouTube! Then they pick what project they want to make & promptly begin to tell me how to do it. Oh Yes, YouTube makes them a crafting expert! LOL! The ornament from the cover of the Holiday catalog was the winning project. Let me say this, it was quite the adventure. First they chose what colors to use. #2 chose Pumpkin Pie & Crumb Cake. #3 chose Pool Party & Real Red. They stamped 20 of each of the large & small ornaments, then we had a catastrophe...#3 spilled a cup of water all over her project. She had a melt down! It took them quite awhile to stamp all those ornaments & she was devastated. Of course I told her not to worry & I would restamp the ornaments for her. So with in a few minutes she had all her ornaments back & we were ready to move on to the next step of die cutting them all. This turned out to be too much labor for #3 & after doing half of them she escaped to go play outside. But #2 was set on finishing her project so she die cut them & I folded them. Then she put them all together like it showed in the video. Then came her favorite part GLITTER! Next time we have got to put down lots of newspapers, I am still cleaning up glitter 2 days later! Anyway back to our adventure. Time for assembly! I worked the hot glue & she did the rest. Of course she had to have a bow, crystal button, & pearl so I helped her get that together & we were done...4 hours later!!! But it came out SO pretty!

I started making mine & I think with out any little helpers I can complete it in less than an hour so don't be afraid to make on of these beauties! Especially since when you purchase the supplies to make it you get the Festive Paper Piercing Pack FREE!

WCMD Graphic!

I thought it would be fun to create a graphic using MDS 2 to celebrate WCMD! I am really liking this new program it is easier than ever to create cool projects in a very short amount of time. Hope you have downloaded your free trial of MDS2! Click Here to get it if you haven't already.
You also gotta check out all the fabulous digital projects created over at www.mydigitalstudio.net

Happy WCMD!

I hope you have some crafty plans for today! Maybe I will be able to finish making the Thank You cards I needed but since its 3am & I haven't been to bed yet I'm not exactly sure how that will work out. Its ok because technically I have already made a couple cards between midnight & now so Woo Hoo for actually making a card on World Card Making Day! The girls have their activities in the morning but if I can get in a little nap I am sure I will be ready to spend the rest of the day creating some little paper hugs to send to my friends. Ok now I think I may be a bit delirious! I better just show you a pretty card I made today & head off to bed...
Zzzzzzz.............

So many choices!!!

I absolutely LOVE making Christmas cards! I am still working on which samples to use for which classes. Luckily I have 2 Stamp a Stacks coming up so I get to make 10 card designs! Actually I have completed 5 already. I was playing with the idea of doing a purple snowflake card  & here are the 2 I came up with.
They use basically the same cardstock, I kept one very simple & the other is just a little more embellished but still very easy to mass produce. I love how perfectly this card would fit for a winter birthday or a thank you! So my family voted on which one they thought we should make now its your turn! Snowflake or Banners?
Sometimes its hard for me to narrow it down so I appreciate your input!
Thanks for visiting & I hope your day is blessed!

October Stamp a Stack Card 2

At our last Stamp a Stack my friends mentioned that Christmas thank you cards would be useful so I decided to add a pretty thank you card to our October Stamp a Stack! They can choose either color combo & of course they can also stamp a Christmas greeting instead of the thank you. I love how simple adding a bit of bling is with the fabulous glimmer papers! I saw a beautiful card by Jenni Pauli & it inspired these cards.
Thanks for taking a peek today!

Kindness Makes a Difference

Its really sad that I can never get a Thank You card out in a decent amount of time. But better late then never right!
Sometimes I just need some inspiration & a little time to stamp for fun. I was checking out Shelli's challenge for this month & loved the idea of limited layers! So with that in mind I created this card! I even used some of my all time favorite SU dsp! A moment of silence please...Luckily I still have 2 unopened packs! Anyway I must get back to prepping.
Thanks for coming by!

Here is one of the cards we will be making at October's Stamp a Stack!

Sledding Kids

Working on stamp a stack samples for November's class. I usually make a few & choose 5 out of those so we shall see which ones actually make the cut. I love the new Champagne Glimmer paper! Its sooo pretty! Well I'm off to continue cutting more of the 155 cards needed for this weekends Stamp a Stack!

Technique Tuesday

I wanted to make the distressed version of the snowflake flower for our Technique Tuesday this month. I made this card for my mother in law so I also used it as the sample for the class!

Thanks for taking a peek at my project today! I have been working on lots of stuff I just haven't had time to take photos yet. So keep an eye out for those projects soon!

My Kids Cards

I don't really share anything thats not made with SU products but today will be an exception. My girls wanted to make birthday cards for my mother in law & if given a choice of what they would like to use they almost always want to use the cricut. I rarely let them since its such a pain in the butt to drag it out but I did. We have lots of cartridges & they like to browse through them all to decide what they feel like cutting. This time they chose Hoot n Holler. Then we have to pull out the giant stack of random scrapbook paper so they can contemplate what designs & colors they will use. So needless to say this is a really lengthy process & actually ended up taking up most of my day on Wednesday. Seriously!
Daughter #2's cards is on the right & #3's is on the left. #2 decided her owl was walking back from the fair so she needed a balloon & an ice cream. Of course then #3 had to have a balloon too! They did really well. I have been trying to teach them that sometimes "less is best". Some of there cards look like a contest of who can add the most stuff so I was happy they remembered my advice. Then of course anyime they make cards I usually get one of these questions "Would you make a card like this for your ladies?" or "Will you put it on your blog?". So today I decided I would make a couple little girls happy & put their cards up on my blog. Thanks for stopping by & if you have time to leave a comment I am sure they would love it!

Christmas Display

At convention they had these giant chalkboards hanging in the display area that showcased different products. They looked pretty neat so I wanted to make one for myself but I went with a faux chalkboard look using black posterboard.

I decided to showcase the projects I made with the Merry Moments Simply Scrappin kit & the scrapbook page I made with.....yeah that kit. Sorry forgot the name of it but its in the holiday mini & if I didn't have a sleeping baby on me I would go look it up. But for now you will have to browse through your beautiful holiday mini to find it.
I'll be back with more later. Thanks for stopping by!

Finally Got MDS2!

So excited! I had to share the first 12 x 12 I made in MDS2! I say "made" lightly as all I really did was alter a pre made design I got on the Eventful Year MDS disc. I love that they have already done most of the work for me & I can just drag & drop!!!

This is #3 last year on her B day morning! I always decorate the night before so when they get up they feel special. I didn't realize how much it meant to them until my birthday & they got up & asked where were the decorations? I'll be sure to decorate for my own birthday next time. LOL! This page was stinkin cute & easy all I had to do was add the text & delete a few photo boxes. Now that I've got MDS2 I hope to start scrapbooking more. They are growing so fast & it will be nice for us all to have these precious moments captured forever in a beautiful book!

Yoshi Punch Art!

Front

Inside
My hubby pointed out that I haven't made him a card in a while & he wanted to make sure I made him one for his b day. He loves Super Mario stuff so I decided to go with that theme. I saw some cute super mario punch arts on SCS so I used those as inspiration for this card. The Yoshi I saw was made by Heidi Lopez. I couldn't find a list of the punches she used but here is what I used...

Yoshi- 1 3/4" Circle, Wide Oval, Large Oval, Small Oval, Word Window
Mushroom- Wide Oval. 1/2" Circle, 1 3/4" Circle, 1" Square

Thanks for taking a peek!

Today is my sweetie's birthday & I wanted to share the cute card I made him but I haven't had a chance to give it to him yet. I went with a Thanksgiving projects with a little bit of a non traditional color scheme.

Not So Holiday Mini Series Day 4

We had our first meet up at Panera last night & it was SO FUN! I am so blessed to have such a great group of friends to stamp with every month! We did the angry birds punch art & everyones projects came out so cute! We did the card I showed you a couple days ago & a gift tag. While I was putting together the gift tag #3 was playing in my craft room & found a piece of one of the snowflakes we had cut earlier & she said "Here's the crown for the pig!" So even though this project only features a tiny piece from the Holiday catalog I thought it still could count for the series.

I had hoped to have the tutorial up for both the pig & red angry bird today but I have a few other things I have to finish up first so hopefully this weekend I will be able to post it. Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you have a GREAT weekend!

Not So Holiday Mini Series Day 2

Today's card features the Mitten Builder punch to make these tiny cupcakes! My hubby's birthday is next week so I went with a more masculine color scheme.

I used the cuff of the mitten for the base & the scallop part for the top. Up next will be my favorite project so stay tuned!

I may be biased since EVERYTHING in that catalog is on my Favs List but trust me if you haven't signed up for this round of U Stamp you will be missing some FABULOUS projects! Soooooo just to show you a sneak peek of one of the project tutorials you will get here is the first project I designed!

It will be here before you know it!

Yes I am talking about Christmas! This year I wanted to start getting ready a bit earlier since I always wait until the last minute & then its a mad dash to finish everything! Hope this year will be different but we shall see. At least I will be a bit ahead on making Christmas cards & wanted my friends to be ahead too so I decided we will start our Christmas cards in September instead of October! This will also mean I get to add an extra Stamp a Stack class this year! Woo Hoo! So we will have a Christmas Stamp a Stack every month for the next 3 months! Here are 2 of the card options for the September 29th class...

I like to have a variety of cards available (elegant, whimsical, traditional, etc.) & throw in a couple non traditional colored cards. Anyway I've got to get back in my craft room to finish up the other 3 samples! Thanks for stopping by today!

My Artisan Finalist Swap

So here is the card I ended up making with all those flowers I showed you a few weeks back. It was hard to come up with something to swap with such a talented group. I went with something similar to the wedding card I entered in the contest but made a few changes. It was really down to the wire making 25 of these but it was so worth it to get to swap with such a creative group of ladies! I will share more the swaps I received soon.
Thanks for stopping by today!

SAVE THE DATE for Cards for Kids!

October 6th is World Card Making Day & what better way to celebrate than using our hobby to make a difference in the lives of others! That's what card making is really all about, right?

We will be creating cards to donate to the Ronald McDonald House Charities! Stampin Up has been partnered with this worthwhile cause for over 10 years! Click here for the flyer highlighting this year's RMHC stamp set "Moving Forward"! I received this adorable card from Artisan winner Sarah Sagert in the Artisan Finalist swap at Convention! I think it highlights the Moving Forward set perfectly!

Here's a little more info off the SU website:
Stampin' Up! is partnering with Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC) to bring comfort and creativity to the lives of Ronald McDonald House guests. Each year, thousands of families stay at more than 160 independently operated Ronald McDonald Houses in North America. These Houses serve as temporary homes for the families of seriously ill children who are being treated in nearby hospitals.

Stampin' Up!'s commitment to RMHC is fourfold. Each year, the company donates $100,000 to the organization, in addition to a portion of the proceeds from the sale of an exclusive stamp set designed to promote the partnership with RMHC. The company's demonstrators are also encouraged through the Making a Difference campaign to volunteer their time teaching Ronald McDonald House guests in their areas the creative art of rubber stamping.

Finally, cards demonstrators create at training events throughout the US and Canada are donated to Ronald McDonald Houses in the areas where the events are held.

You can find all the details of this event here on my SU event page! If you can not attend the event but you would still like to participate please contact me to sign up for a "Card for Kids Kit" in the mail.  Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

It's Thursday Already!

Hey what happened to Wednesday?? I meant to pop on & post the second card we made at Technique Tuesday but I guess time just got away for me...AS USUAL! Anyway I'm here now so here is the card.
I saw a great card on Erica Cerwin's blog & I just had to case some of her elements. I love how this card came out! I wanted to preserve the natural feel so I didn't add any embellishments & just let the focus be on the beautiful butterflies! I used Daffodil & Pumpkin markers to color the butterflies. It's easy peasy but if anyone wants a quick video done on how I did it just let me know. Thanks for stoppin by today!

P.S. Just an FYI the Butterfly punch Stamp Camp has been RESCHEDULED! Please check my events calender for info.

First Freshly Made Challenge!

Last night I was blog hopping & found this fun website that does sketch challenges! Sometimes I struggle with layouts & I loved their clean sketches so I decided to play along! Here is the sketch & my card.

Inside Card
I spent some time yesterday trying to get my craft room in order. Good news is I can walk in there now & actually see alot my desk but it's far from done. Anyway I found way too many pieces of pre cut cardstock so I thought I would try to use some of it up. I had the small black & vanilla pieces cut from a couple stamp a stack classes ago so I stamped them with the hot air balloon from the You're Amazing set. I also found the pre stamped thanks & I needed some thank you cards so it worked out perfect. Thanks for taking a peek today I'll be back tomorrow with our Technique Tuesday card!!!
OH WAIT almost forgot the winners of the blog candy!!!

Well now that the blog hop is over I can get back to sharing some other things that I've made recently! Lets start with a couple journals I made for my wonderful friend & her sweet grandaughter.

They are taking a road trip up north & I wanted to give them something special to record the memories they may make on the way. I remember taking trips with my grandparents & I enjoyed it so much! I wish I had a journal of our adventures. Anyway thanks for stopping by today! See you tomorrow with our blog candy winner announcement!
