Artisan Wednesday Wow- Blendabilities

Thanks for joining us for another week of inspiration!
This week has been a roller coaster for me & I am dedicating this post to my Grandma Mary.
I know she is in a better place but it is still heart breaking to lose someone that you loved so much. She was the best grandma ever! My heart is so sad especially for my Papa. They have been together for 65 years! Ok before the water works start again I better move on.

How about we talk about Stampin Up's new Blendabilities markers. First let me say, I am still very new to alcohol markers so I am still learning & practicing but here are the two cards I created...

They are pretty much the same card but they have completely different looks & that was achieved just by stamping in 2 different inks. For the first one I wanted to get a soft look that could work for a sympathy card so I inked my stamp with Crumb Cake & stamped off before stamping my card. Then I used the Blendabilities, light to dark, to color the flowers & went back slightly with the color lifter.

For this one I used the Memento Tuxedo Black ink & did the same method of coloring.

Well that's all I have for now so lets hop on over to visit Alanna!

Artisan Wednesday Wow

Welcome back! Can't believe May is already here! This week you will definitely see a theme on each stop of the hop & just in case you haven't figured it out yet it's Project Life ® by Stampin Up ®!

Now I must have been hiding under a rock for the last couple years because I was not hip to what PL was all about. I knew it had something to do with scrapbooking & I immediately tuned out cause #1 I don't scrapbook & #2 Ain't Nobody Got Time For Dat!...around here anyway. BUT when SU announced it my interest was peaked...so what was the deal with this "Project Life" anyway and if SU is getting behind it then maybe it's worth checking out. Luckily for me I didn't have to wait long to see what the hype was all about since our Artisan boxes this month were stuffed with PL products! As soon as I opened the adorable little box of journaling cards I started thinking about all the cute cards I could make because lets face it "I'm a Card Maker not a Scrapbooker." I wish I was uber talented like...oh lets just say-Cathy Caines- who can crank out amazing scrapbook pages like nobody's business but truthfully I may break out in a cold sweat when I have to do scrapbook pages! So for those of you that is just comes naturally too, I am so JELLY! OK back to PL & how I am hoping it will change my scrapbooking life...In theory I love the idea of documenting things for my kids. I feel so bad when they ask me those "What did I do when I was 2" questions & Im like uh uh...hey look your friends are at the door. Yeah my memory is THAT bad. Sad really. BUT maybe just maybe is it possible that PL can change all that? How about we look at my very first attempt at documenting a piece of our lives-

I think minus the fact that I stamped April 27th instead of 26th its pretty successful! Its almost like making little cards so that really cuts out the stress factor for me. And you can embellish as much or as little as you want & the lay out is already there so its pretty much a No Brainer-Just like me sometimes. Lol! Here are some close ups of my pockets...

(My four year old came up with that smiley face using the PL corner rounder!!!)

So is there hope for this "Card Maker"? Can I really maintain a record of our family's life without having a panic attack & spending a bazillon hours doing it? With PL-I think so!

Now lets go take a peek at whats going on in Miss Alanna's "Life"~

I choose the Big Wish stamp set & the Silver Baker's Twine!

The perfect stamp set for packing up one of my favorite food groups...CAKE!
Yes its true, my name is Mercedes & I'm a Cupcake-aholic. Lol! But here is something you may not know about me I am not a big fan of chocolate (small fan? maybe.)...weird but it's probably the only time you will see me pass on having a cupcake! If I get to choose it's gonna be vanilla with white buttercream and I have been know to throw in some raspberry or lemon filling on occasion. Yum-A! Ok enough about that I have gained 5 pounds just talking about it...

Now we come to the very popular Cake Pop! I know, right! Where the heck have these been all my life! Its Cake. On a stick People! Totally Adorbs!

And super duper easy to package using the new Tag Punches. The stick slides right through the holes & holds it closed. Three cheers for easy peasy!

Artisan Wednesday Wow

Welcome! It has been so fun to see all the trendy nautical themed projects from the team this month, so I figured I would jump on the band wagon...

This was my first attempt. It worked out perfect for my make n take project at our demo meeting.
Then I was checking out Pinterest & all these adorable nautical cards starting popping up! It was like they were reading my mind...weird. Anyway needless to say I was inspired to create another card-

This is a note card size 3 1/2 x 5 & I used the Circle Framelits for the...um...yeah that thing. And just because these cards make me think of my Best Mate thought I would share a picture that I took last weekend-

Artisan Wednesday Wow

Welcome back! Well April is certainly in full swing & so is the crazy weather changes apparently. Last week I told you how stormy it was here & today it is over 80 degrees. Cray Zee! But I love the warm weather so I am certainly not complaining. Anyway lets take a look at a little eye candy...

Now true confession time- Maybe none of you can relate but I have quite the collection of "Someday" items, you know the ones your husband tries to throw away & your like "No wait I am going to do something with that." Well this basket came from my "Someday" pile! Just a cheapy dollar store find but I knew it could be something more "Someday". Now I have a pretty basket to hand out my Easter treats at my demo meeting this week. Yay!

I gave it a little paint job since I wanted a kind of white washed look & then dressed it up with the Burlap & Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit! (item#133333)
My crafty daughter actually went a little crazy with this kit & she wanted to put together ALL the flowers by herself. She did a great job too!

Well before you go I wanted to share a photo of the sweet baby I photographed last week-

Yeah almost makes me want to have another one. If only they stayed this little.
Ok on to visit Alanna!

Artisan Wednesday Wow

Well April showers will hopefully be bringing May flowers because its been crazy stormy here in California! Anyway WELCOME! I hope you are enjoying the fresh batch of inspiration the Team has cooked up for you! Our box was full of all kinds of cool things so it was hard to decide what to use for todays project but I narrowed it down & came up with this...

Do you recognize that DSP? Oh wait that's not DSP...its the stickers from the Springtime Hello Simply Created Garland kit! (item#133330)

I have had babies on the brain since I found out I was pregnant.

April Fools! Anyway what I was going to say was -since I started doing baby photography. I have an appointment with a little sweet pea that has an owl themed nursery so I wanted to make her mama a thank you card for letting me be a part of capturing such a beautiful time in their lives. Above is the boy version & I will share the girl version after it has been delivered to the family just in case mama takes a peek  over here before tomorrow. She is a SU demo so you never know. Lol!
Ok time to fly over to Alanna's nest & see what she's got goin' on...
