Artisan Wednesday Wow

Holy Cow I can't believe how fast Wednesday rolls around! Hope you were dazzled by Jen's adorable project! If not just keep hoppin around until you get to it! I was pretty sure the other gals would have you loaded up on great Halloween ideas so I went a different route.
First off let me just say the Build a Banner kit Totally ROCKS!
Did you see Cathy's project last week? Squeally Cute!

Anyway as most of you know I love the vintage look so that's the direction I took with my banner...Let's take a look!

First I stamped the pieces with Black Staz On. Then I filled my spritzer with 25 drops of Baked Brown Sugar re-inker & spritzed the whole banner then I mixed up 40 drops of the same color & added the stripes. TIP: When using the stencils you don't want to spray to heavily or when you lift the stencil it all runs together & looks like a hot mess. So hold your spritzer above your project & spritz a few times...stop before it looks dark enough. TRUST ME. Resist the urge to add "just a little bit more".  If your colors are not dark enough add more re inker don't spritz more. Test it out on scratch paper before starting. Also make sure your banner & stencil are laying flat before you start spritzing.

Ok enough reliving my banner nightmare for your learning pleasure. LOL. On to the matching card! Again stop BEFORE its enough when spritzing the cardstock as well.

Hope you enjoyed my projects!
Lets go visit Alanna!

  4. Super job on the vintage banner! I was thinking the same thing about using the stencils on the cards! A big upsell on the banner kit don't you think. You did a beautiful job on both of these! :) Jennifer, Calgary
