Today is also my 2nd oldest daughters birthday! Happy Birthday Princess!
Anyway now that 2010 is on the way out I wanted to sneak in one last post. Now that the craziness is offically over I finally got a chance to stamp a little something! Shelli (Yes THE Shelli) is having a challenge on her blog so I thought I'd give a go. I really enjoy the crinkle distressing using water & a heat tool so thats what I've done on these 2 cards. You will see lots of sneak peek stuff that will be available in just a few short days! Both cards use a new SU die that will be in the Occasions mini catalog. For card #2 I used a fabulous new flower punch to make the leaves.
Technique Info:
Card 1-Sponged all layers with Razzleberry Ink on Pale Plum cardstock then sprayed with water. Love the way the Razzleberry started to bleed. Then I crinkled layers in to tight balls heat dried a little then carefully unwrapped them & completely dried with heat tool.
Card 2- Same process minus sponging & instead of spraying with plain water I added some Soft Suede Reinker & Champagne Shimmer Paint to the spray bottle.

Craft Faire Table
I have been really busy making items for a festival I had a table at over the weekend. Sad to say the weather was not great & my table was off the main path so the traffic to my area was extremely minimal. So I guess I've got a good jump on stuff for next year! Those that did stop by seemed to enjoy my free make n take though! We used the new cupcake punch & stamp set to make a super simple 3x3 card. Thanks for stopping, hope you had a lovely weekend!
Oh yeah forgot to add I totally cased the snowman canybars & reindeer food from this super talented gal: Kerry's Papercrafts & cased the SU corkboard sign from a post I saw on Stampin Connection. Funny thing is I picked up these corkboards a couple years ago on clearance at Michaels for 90% off! Hubby tried to chuck them many times after asking many many times "What are you going to do with these?" I seem to get that question a LOT! I love when I actually use some of the stuff I have in my I might need this someday stuff. LOL!

Mr. & Mrs. Rudolph Boxes
The SU calendar countdown kit is so fun! I wasn't crazy about the advent idea shown in the catalog but I loved the adorable little boxes so I used them to make little treats for my technique tuesday stampers. I combined a bunch of different punch art reindeers that I have seen to come up with this one.
I finally thought ahead a bit & took pictures of the punch pieces you'll need to create this reindeer.
Boxes from Candy Calendar Countdown Kit (item#120926) on pg 34 of Holiday Mini Catalog
SU Punches Needed:
Owl (Head & White for Eyes)
Snowflake (Antlers)
1 3/4 Circle (Body)
1/4 Circle (Black Eyes)
1/2 Circle (Nose & Hoofs)
I sponged the crumb cake cardstock with chocolate chip ink. Also the hoofs on the mrs. I used white pen & on the mr. I snipped out the triangle. I think I like the cut out better. Anyway thanks for stopping by today & your comments are always very appreciated!

Craft Faire Fun!
I had a great weekend working a craft faire! I met some really wonderful gals & even sold a few things! Meeting new friends is always such a blessing! Anyway I wanted to share a project I made to sell at the faire.
I really like how they turned out. I made a pocket in the back for a gift card, cash, or a note by cutting another scallop circle in half. I attached it around the edge with some tombo multi glue & brads for added support. I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Recycled Cup Lid!
I have been on this crazy "Re-Purposing" kick for a couple days & finally had a few minutes to take some photos of what I've been up to. So this is one of the things I made using a lid from a Starbucks cup! I just used my craft scissors to trim out the top of the cup & the 2 1/2" circle punch fits well inside the groove. I covered the rim with tombo multi glue & glitter.
I came up with a new punch art reindeer!!
The reindeer is made with the bird punch, word window, & the swirls scribbles die. I used the leaves from bird punch for the ears. For the nose I put a mini glue dot on a brad & dipped in the glitter. Cute?

Just a quick post. I saw this cute butterfly idea on Andrea Walfords blog & I wanted to make one for my niece's birthday card. Body starts as a word window & is hand cut. I think it came out pretty cute! What do ya think?

Beautifully Simple!
Sample #3 for my next SAS. I made a bunch of cards the last couple days & finally decided this was my favorite! I will post the rejects another day. It's hard to see but I sponged a bit of the champagne shimmer paint around the edges & on the image to give it a little sparkle. Nice effect in person! :)

Santa SAS Card
Well my birthday wish for today was to spend all day in my stamp room but with a house full of kids & hubby at work I knew that wasn't gonna happen. Anyway I did manage to photograph sample #2 for the Nov 13 Stamp a Stack. I just love this Santa image! Since its for a SAS I did a quick coloring job with markers. Markers used: Blushing Bride, Bashful Blue, Going Gray, Pretty in Pink, & Real Red.
I'll be back tomorrow with more samples. Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamp a Stack #2 is Coming!
I think Christmas Stamp a Stacks are my favorite events! I really LOVE designing Christmas cards! Here is my first card. I was inspired by a couple cards I saw by Renee Van Stralen. She does such beautiful work! This card has a pretty shimmer spray on it but it was impossible to get it to show up in the photo. My next class is on Nov 13. I have a few dates available for you to schedule a class just for you & your friends! Choose from SAS session 1 or 2's samples. My place or yours! Anyway stay tuned tomorrow for more Stamp a Stack samples!

a kitty & a card!
Had to share this picture of one of our new kittens taking a nap with the baby. It was so adorable! We got 2 little kitties a couple weeks ago & they are like having 2 more kids. There favorite thing is to sleep all day they tear through the house & play with the baby's toy all night. Its cute to see them jumping in to the stationary walker thingy & play the toy piano. One will get on top the walker & reach down through the leg holes to attack the other one. Anyway here is a card we will be making at December's Technique Tuesday!
Once in awhile I do get things done in advance! Not often but I know with the business of the holidays & girls birthdays things will get crazy quick! So anything I can accomplish ahead of time is great.
ETA: For those who have asked about how this is done I am working on a little photo tutorial.

So Challenging
I wanted to make a special card for a friend that lost her grandmother recently. So I went to check out the challenges over on Splitcoast again. This card combines the challenge to use a frame & the other one was to use DSP to paper piece something. I have a ton of retired products that I totally hoard so this challenged me to actually use some of it!

Christmas SAS is coming!
I must be having fun beacause I can't beleive how quickly this year is flying by. My sweet baby girl is already 8 months old & she is almost walking! Doctor says she is advanced. {Inset sad face here} My oldest turned 16 last month & my other 2 will be 5 & 6 in December... Can someone please hit the pause button!!! Anyway here is one of the cards for this months Stamp a Stack. We made a great card similar to this at our last demo Stamp n Chat. Thanks Janet! This is my version of her card. Did I mentioned how much I LOVE the new trim die from the holiday mini!Yesterday was filled with alot of chores & not as much card making as I hoped for but a very happy day anyway. What did you all do to celebrate Card Making Day?
Hope you are blessed & are a blessing to someone today!

October Blog Hop!
First off let me say WELCOME! If you just came from my super talented friend Lynda's blog, she is a tough act to follow. I am almost intimidated. LOL!
Beleive it or not this card was stamped one handed, in the car (parked of course), while nursing a baby! How's that for multi tasking!! My second card I actually got to make in the happimess called my stamp room.
I tried to go a little out of my comfort zone on this one so you'll have to let me know what you think. Thanks so much for stopping by & your comments. They are always appreciated!
Now on with the show....Hop on over to my buddy Marisa's blog. She always has something super creative going on!

Quick Clean Up
I need to put away all my supplies from the Stamp a Stack & of course I found a few extra pieces. For a second I thought about putting them in my I'll Finish Later bin but I think I have learned my lesson so I decided to finish them now! This one is a modification from the original design. I embossed my sentiment crooked the first time so I cut that part off & tried again. Mistakes are just invitations to use a bit more imagination, right?
Here is the original:

Another fun idea!
Here is another project idea from the IMPRINTS meeting. I had to improvise on the wreath since I couldn't get mine to look like Bevs. I think she used a little circle punch & layered a bunch but I'm not sure. Anyway I used my 1" circle & scallop circle punch to make my version.
Hope to get more projects up soon!
Blessings,
Mercedes

Such Fun!
I had the pleasure of attending my first IMPRINTS meeting on Saturday & I was really inspired by all of the amazingly talented gals that were there! Thanks ladies for helping me get my mojo back. I have had an infection for a couple weeks & it was seriously imparing my ability to create anything...good. I'm much better now! A BIG thankyou to Bev for hosting in your beautiful home & preparing such great projects for us to make. I had to share this cute water bottle holder idea Bev shared with us. Fun foam cut with SU dies! I did modify the closure to make it a bit more kid friendly. The original was tied with a piece of satin ribbon through the jumbo eyelets. I used a small ponytail holder & a couple of flower brads to make it easier for the kiddos.
