Well its officially the end of one of my favorite times of the SU year. Loved the way they offered so many set choices this year! Anway here's a cute card using the Happy Moments SAB set & the SAB paper pack. So hopefully you saved those tabs from the drink card so you can turn them in to a cute little cupcake. I must admit I LOOOOVVVEE CUPCAKES! Who doesn't right? Mmmmm so good! :D
My sweet aunt gave me a brand new sewing machine awhile back & I finally cleared off enough space to "set it up". Only 1 problem I don't know the first thing about sewing especially with a machine. So I took it out of the box & set it on the desk & it sat there for days. I took a look at the manual & my brain started to ooze out of my ears. I really don't like to read boring complicated directions. So as usual after awhile I hand hubby the directions & ask him to figure it out then show me how to do it. Of course he figures it out in like 5 minutes & starts sewing! And he enjoyed it! He even asked for more things to sew & he went to Joann's to get more fabric! What?! He hates to go to those places. Anyway I cut some felt with the Big Shot & the Scallop Square Die & he made this! I made the flower with fabric & the Flower Layers #3 die.

I can't believe spring has finally arrived! Woo Hoo! Its my favorite time of the year. I have been working on a couple new punch bunnies. Here is the first one. It holds a treat bag inside. More to share later...

This month Shelli's blog challenge is using stencils! I wanted to try the paper roses that are all the rage right now & they are super pretty but really bulky. I thought it would be best to use it on a 3-d item of some kind. I have had these SU gable boxes for years, package still unopened, I am currently getting shock treatments for my hoarding problem. LOL! Anyway I love the way it came out! Now if I can bring myself to actually giving it away thats a whole different story.....

This card is so not my usual style but I was playing with the technique & this background reminded me of a trip my hubby & I took to an art gallery featuring some stuff by Salvador Dali. I thought some of his art was really crazy, filled with all kinds of random things, so anyway I made this card for hubby. Love how it turned out!

You will need a scrap of paper & Stampin Up's Round Tab Punch. For my designer paper I used the Sale-a-Bration Welcome Neighbor paper pack.
Insert the paper as shown & punch 2 tabs next to each other. Depending on how close you punch them you can vary the size of your drink.
Then use your paper cutter or scissors to cut straight across as shown.
I had a chance to play more with the flower technique we are making at my Technique Tuesday class. This time I used the Cottage Wall DSP & it's so fabulous!! I can't beleive it took me this long to get it. Hope you're having a great weekend!

I was cleaning some of the scraps off my desk today & found this little chick I made a couple weeks ago. I had planned on making baby announcements that said "welcome our new little chick" but quickly realized making a bunch of these chicks would be more time consuming than I thought. If I was the organized type (LOL!) I could have started them weeks before baby arrived & had them finished & mailed by now. But being organized is not one of the gifts the good Lord has bestowed on me. Love the saying "Lord Please Bless This Mess!". Anyway enough of my confessions. After I stamped the baby saying I thought Happy Easter would have been cute too. I am putting this chickie on my list of tutorials to be made...
Who knew the Fabulous in 5 minutes class would be so perfect for me since thats about all the time I have to stamp these days! I came up with this layout today while working with the Sale-a-Bration set Happy Moments & a color combo inspired by a swap card I received made by Scheli Abraham. Fabulous card Scheli! To make this card extra fab I spritzed the card base with shimmer paint & used shimmer white cardstock for the stamped image. Hard to tell in the photo but the effect is so pretty!
In a world where stamping is scarce & sleep is optional I was somehow able to play along with yesterday's color challenge on SCS. Bravo Burgundy, Crushed Curry, & Basic Gray. A very challenging color combo for me especially while toting around a newborn & my other 2 "helpers" that love to create right along side me anytime I enter my stamp room. I had this retired valentine set sitting close by in my for sale pile & I thought it would pair well with Vintage Vogue so I thought of giving a more masculine valentine card a try. It didn't turn out like I had it in my head but the color combo ended up not looking as hideous as I first thought. LOL!
Baby update:
I used the new tiny tags set to make this simple baby card for a stampin friend that is expecting her 1st baby this spring. I am so excited for her! Baby girls are the best! Our little girl is battling a case of jaundice & we have had to take her in for bloodwork the last couple days. Totally heart breaking to see them poking her teeny little feet & hearing her crying. Praying when we go in today she will have gained back some of the weight she lost & test results will be good so we don't have to go again. Thank you Lord for sending your healing down to our precious Logan!
I started the samples for the Fabulous in 5 Minutes class. Anything with lots of sparkle is fabulous, right? So hard to capture the bling on camera but this is very sparkly in person!
This little box is so adorable & easy to create with the big shot! I have a tutorial in the works for it. Well that's all I have for today hopefully I will have time to post again soon!

My daughter was wearing a shirt a few weeks ago with a cute little skunk on it & it inspired me! I actually made it awhile back & its been sitting on my desk unfinished until last night! I will be working on some new tutorials soon. The weather has been stormy this week so the lighting for tutorials photos is yucky. Maybe I will figure out how to make video tutorials someday soon. Anybody got any tips on how to do that? Luckily there was a little break in the clouds so I could snap this photo. Baby is arriving this weekend so not sure how much that will slow me up. We are going in on Saturday to be induced. I can't beleive its time already! I am starting to get a little nervous about giving birth, having a newborn again, & how my youngest is going to react since she has been my baby for the last 4 years. I am sure I will be amazed by the grace that God will pour out on us during this time of amazing transition.
I wanted to do a valentine using the colors Melon Mambo, Basic Black, & Pretty in Pink! So today was the day to give it a try. I tried to use the sketch challenge over on SCS but I goofed on my measurements. Anyway it all came together in the end. I made some Melon Mambo glitter cardstock using versamark & iridescent ice embossing powder. It has been so stormy here the last few days I wanted to make something shiny! I also used my new butterfly embosslit from the Occasions mini catalog! It's FABULOUS!!
I figured I better get my samples ready for the classes I have scheduled for next month before the little one shows up. This will be the first technique I will demo for my Technique Tuesday class on Feb 23rd. I may have the Technique Tuesday class tutorials available for on line purchase if I receive enough request/interest in that. Anyway hope you all have a wonderful day!
