Pretty Flowers

Just a quick post...

Let the crazy begin!

Less than one week till convention! O my there is SO much to do! Sorry I have been a little behind sharing here but you know how it is getting ready for the biggest stamping party of the year, right? Anyway enough about my crazy to do list cuz I gotta keep it short and sweet so here are a couple cards I have made recently...
This card is super simple but that was the intention. I used the hexagon punch to make the chevron pattern, added this cute sentiment & a little Pool Party bakers twine...moment of silence please. It was is one of my faves.
For this one I made the Chalk Talk scrap tag like I showed you last time but instead of leaving the tab sticking up I folded it over so it had a straight edge. My daughter (#2) wasn't fond of my choice to pair the tag with this card base though. She says it doesn't go. But she did love the tag. Lol! At first I agreed but its kinda growing on me. Oh well you can't win 'em all!
Ok I will be back tomorrow. Hope your day is blessed!

Scrap Tags

Hope you all had a wonderful 4th! We took the kids to the local parade and my hubby got called to work for a bit so I got to man the BBQ for the first time! Just did hot dogs for the girls but they came out perfect! I made potato salad and when hubby got home he did the burgers...So Good! One of my favorite things about summer, Grillin'! Hubs is not too fond of standing in the scorching sun manning the grill but he does it because he's just awesome like that. Ok enough about that, it's making me hungry. Anyway I have been die cutting like crazy the last couple days, see...
prepping my swap stuff & I found I had a bunch of these...

So as I was getting ready to toss them I started thinking...and came up with a super simple way to use that little tag part.
I kept it super simple since time is not on my side right now but you could do a lot with this little tag piece! Even made a little pocket for these tags.
Tags measure 2"x 4".
For the pocket ignore the first score line that was a boo boo. I started with a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of DSP, score at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4, and along the bottom at 1/4". Snip tabs, punch with Large Oval & use sticky strip to adhere. Easy Peasy!
Hope to have more time to play with this idea more later...Hugs~

Just Because

Swaps are always a great part of going to Convention but the Artisan Finalist swaps are just spectacular! So the pressure is on to get mine going since they take quite awhile to complete. Yesterday I was playing around with a few different ideas and I finally decided on which one it will be but of course in the process I have a few "prototypes" so thought I would share one...
I had decided on a color combo & stamp set and got to stamping! Adding things and taking things away until I came up with something I thought was a winner but I usually ask Hubby for his opinion before deciding and since his initial response was "This is a swap?!" I knew it should be a good one. Stay tuned for a peek after Convention of course.
Yesterday I also got to chat with some of the other finalist! Such a fun group of wonderfully talented ladies! Stiff competition let me tell you! It was neat to see some new faces and  friends from the 2012 group. I am so looking forward to meeting up with them and of course seeing their entries displayed! Ok enough chatter I got to get crackin on my swaps....
Hugs~

I Love Free Paper!

It's July?!! I must be having way too much fun because time is just flyin' by!
I was excited to see what fun SU had in store for this month and was super happy to see one of my favorite promotions going on this month...Free DSP! I am a HUGE DSP hoarder  collecter. Pretty papers just make me happy & getting them free makes me even happier! There is just something almost magical about being able to choose perfectly coordinating papers to complete my projects. No guess work needed, SU has taken the hassle out of trying to match this to that and even lists the colors that coordinate with every pack of DSP on the back of the packages! Easy Peasy, right?
Ok now how about a new "clear" set...
Click Here to see all the cute stamps!
And a new Best of set...
I will leave you with a very simple card that we made at Paper Pumpkin night...

Thanks for stopping by today!
